Memphrémagog: An Illustrated History



Rural Route Communications has announced that Volume 1 of Memphrémagog: An Illustrated History / Une histoire illustrée will be released this summer by Georgeville Press.

The book, which was three years in the making, is the first of a two-volume landscape history of the Memphrémagog region.

The 308-page bilingual book was written by Louise Abbott. It contains 90 contemporary photos taken by Louise Abbott and Niels Jensen, plus 175 historical photos, maps and paintings.

The current book launch schedule is as follows:

Georgeville - Sunday, July 20, 11 a.m. at Carré Copp across from Studio Georgeville.

Austin - Thursday, July 24, 5-7 p.m. at Neil Manson's beautifully restored high-drive barn across from the general store.

Mansonville - Saturday, August 2, 11 a.m. outside the historic round barn on Main Street.

Newport - Saturday, August 9, 3 p.m. at Tastings Center-Brown Dog Bistro on Main Street.
